Party Poker was quick to put their ambassador, Mike Sexton, up for nomination and wants others to do so as well.

"We encourage the poker community to vote online for Mike Sexton's induction into poker's hall of fame," said a Party Poker spokesman.

"Mike famously said that poker takes five minutes to learn and a lifetime to master - it takes five minutes to vote and mark the lifetime achievement of the master! Mike meets all the criteria and deserves to be top of the list when the process gets to the Hall of Fame committee."

Not only is Sexton a World Series of Poker Bracelet winner, he is among the top ten for the most WSOP cashes. Sexton is also known as the Ambassador of Poker and has become a highly recognized figure in the game as the face and voice of the World Poker Tour.

His accomplishments also include winning the first $10k buy-in championship event at the Foxwoods World Poker finals and being the first American to win the Euro Finals of Poker in Paris. In 2006 he also won the WSOP Tournamen of champions and donated $500,000 of his winnings to charity.

Annette "Annette_15" Obrestad said she's planning to vote for Sexton.

"I may be from a different generation of poker players to Mike, but in my mind he deserves induction into poker's hall of fame this year," Obrestad said.

Thirty-seven people have been inducted into the Poker Hall of fame since it was established in 1979. The 16 living members include Doyle Brunson, Amarillo Slim Preston, Phil Hellmuth, Barbara Enright and others.

Once the public has submitted their nominations, the top 10 will go to the Hall of Fame committee to compile and potentially add anyone who was overlooked. They will then send ballots to the living members of the Hall of Fame to vote.

Those chosen for the Hall of Fame will be inducted in November when the WSOP Main Event final table plays out.
